Old Windham United Church

the position of Settled  Minister is vacant as of July 1, 2017

On the announcement of the retirement of our former Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Paul G. Currie, a joint needs Assessment Committee was formed. That Committee’s report forms the basis of the search for a minister.

Lorne Evans, Music Director

Lorne began his music ministry as a youth. ¤ He came to Old Windham in the summer of 2011.  Since that time the number of voices in the church choir has increased dramatically.  Choir members enjoy his relaxed manner of directing. The congregation feels very fortunate to have a musician of his calibre.  Each Sunday is a special surprise as he takes to the piano or organ and offers music so fitting to the moment.

Cindy Smith, Church Secretary

Cindy’s welcoming smile greets visitors through the week.  Her service at Old Windham predates both Paul and Lorne! Her tasks include arranging and booking use of church space by our members or others in the community. She is a fountain of information about Old Windham.  It has been said that: "Secretaries are the hub of the wheel  which has spokes radiating to all of the church"

The Old Windham Church Council is the governing Body of the Congregation. It consists of Executive members, Committee Chairpersons, Group Representatives, and the Minister. It meets at 7:00 on the last Thursday of most months. The various Committees are busy at their work throughout the year keeping us active, challenged, committed, and effective.

The Church Council relates to the Congregation through the Annual Congregational Meeting. It also relates to the Erie Presbytery through the Minister and the Presbytery Representatives. From there the church governance  moves to Hamilton Conference, and the national body - General Council.
